There is a lot more that goes into the production of valves than meets the eye, particularly where different types of materials are concerned. There is a wide variety of valves out there, and they vary in their materials, as well as their functionality. Bronze & Brass

Brass and bronze are common materials in the engineering world thanks to their versatility and strength, as well as their cost-effectiveness as a material.

As an alloy of copper, tin, zinc and lead, bronze offers unbeatable wear and corrosion resistance. Because of this, bronze is commonly used for complex castings and valves that don’t need to exceed low or medium pressures.

Brass offers the same benefits as bronze, with the exception that it is often more cost-effective to use.

Cast Iron

While cast-iron is a good fit for valves, it is only generally used in applications where low pressures and low temperatures are present. Still, cast-iron offers a lot of strength, making it highly useful and versatile in industrial applications.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is robust, corrosive resistant and highly durable; because of this it is used far and wide in the manufacturing and engineering fields; albeit at a higher price than many other materials. Because of its strength and resistance, stainless steel is great for use in the petrochemical and general-plant industries.
